About Me

My name is Bob Depontes and I am the owner of Automotive Management Excellence.  The reason I founded AME is simple; to offer auto shop training and consulting that is affordable, convenient, and most of all effective.  From the beginning, I noticed that sales and management training were always scarce.  By comparison technician training was plentiful.  The best trained technicians cannot make a shop successful if the front of the shop lacks sales and organizational skills.

 

For the last 34 years I have had broad based experience in all things related to auto shop management and sales.  I’ve been fortunate to experience top quality training from the best in the industry and apply it with great success.  I have taken this experience and developed a system for small independent shops.  This system is tailored to an individual shop’s specific needs and can be executed at their pace without travel or big financial commitment.

 

I wrote a monthly column under "Your Management Consultant" for Undercar Digest.  I also post original management articles on this website.  I have ASE certifications for Service Consultant and Parts Specialist and I am also a graduate of two Dale Carnegie courses.
